How To Make The Most Of Your Day
⏳ “Time is like a sword. If you do not cut it, it will cut you.” -Imam Al-Shafi’i I’m sure we’ve all felt it now more than ever. Our days are absolutely FLYING by…. I find myself often looking at the clock with wonder and amazement thinking “where has the entire day gone!?” Our routine and lifestyle which was tightly kept together by our various obligations was suddenly thrown out the window… And we are constantly pulled in 100 different directions at any given moment, whether it’s from family members, tasks, to-do lists, or random obligations. Subhanallah! Now more than ever, I find this proverb to ring true. If you don’t pro-actively structure your day to FIT IN what you want and need, your day will rule YOU instead. And the best way to do this is truly by “cutting” time… 🔪 By splitting up your day into increments that are each dedicated to one of the tasks, activities, or roles you need to manage. And I won’t sit here pretending I’m great at doing this. Every morning I open a notebook and write down what I will be focusing every hour of the day… 99% of the time, my day doesn’t go exactly as I planned. But at LEAST by trying, I know I can definitely get way more done in a day, then if I don’t and allow every whim control me and what I invest my time in. And with Ramadan coming up I think it’s more important to do more with our day now than ever!
