Doing Your Work With Itqan (Excellence)
“We have a right to our labor, but not to the fruits of our labor.”
What does this quote mean exactly?
It means that we must do our work for it’s own sake.
For the sake of doing the work, in the best way that we can.
Not for fortune, or attention, or applause.
We only have control over HOW we do our work, and the RESULT of that work is entirely in the hands of Allah SWT.
The Prophet SAW tells us: “Indeed Allah loves one who when he does a work, he does it with itqan (excellence).”
That is all you can do.
You have a right to your labor, but not to the fruits of your labor.
That belongs to the Almighty.
So next time you sit down to do your work, don’t stress over how others will perceive it, or how much money you will make.
Just focus on doing it with excellence, and trust in Allah SWT’s decree.
