What Are You Doing It All For?
A question I ask myself more often in these times than ever before…
You see I’m sure we all had everything planned out before this crisis hit.
Maybe you had a vacation planned out for you and your family.
Or maybe you had a routine that you felt could never waver and that kept you going as the days went by.
Maybe you were just up for that promotion, or were just getting traction in your business.
I’m sure we all had life all planned out.
But I plan, and you plan, and in the end Allah ﷺ is the best of planners….
And that’s when we find ourselves asking the big questions.
What are we doing it all for?
What are we working towards?
Is it simply a cycle of eat, sleep, and work so you can pay for your food and home and eat sleep some more?
Or should there be a higher purpose in every breath we take?
In my opinion, worship is in all things.
It should not only be what we do “in-between” our work time, eating time and sleeping time.
Our worship should encompass every action we take, and be a CORE driver of everything we do.
And this crisis is a powerful reminder of this…
Why did I start Ummahpreneur?
Why did I start this group?
Even though I had a thriving business as a marketing consultant, I felt like I could be doing more…
I knew I could use my abilities and talents and what I’ve achieved, to help others and push others higher to do the same.
And I could help my Ummah, my brothers and sisters in faith, in my own small way.
It might not make a huge difference what I do here.
It might not change the world.
But if I can impact one life positively through my work…
If I can labor at this every single day with the intention that I want to lift Muslims higher, thEn my work becomes my worship.
My life becomes my worship.
And so I invite you to ask yourselves the same question.
Is your work your form of worship?
And if it isn’t, can you find a way to make it so, or start something that WILL fulfill that role for you?
I invite you to look into starting your own business and serving others in your own unique way, and at Ummahpreneur we are happy to help you do so.
