It’s been a while since we’ve shared anything on our website or YouTube channel, and the best way I can share with you why I’m taking a break and what’s going on is to share with you…
A Story Of Aesop’s Fable
This story is about a man who had a goose, and one day he woke up and realized that the goose had laid a golden egg. He thought to himself, that’s interesting. I wonder if this is real gold. He takes it to the market, gets it appraised, and lo and behold, he finds out the egg that the goose laid was made of pure gold, so he returns, gets really excited, sells it, and starts making money.
Every day he would wake up systematically. The goose would lay a golden egg every day, and he would go and sell those eggs. He got richer & wealthier, and eventually, he got greedy. He decided, well, instead of waiting every single day to have one measly golden egg, what if I cut the goose open and just there should be a bunch of golden eggs. So he kills the goose and cuts it open. Of course, there were no golden eggs inside the goose, and he killed the goose producing those golden eggs.
I want to share with you guys something I have learned recently, and then I’ll explain this story to you.
I was reading the book the seven habits of highly effective people by Stephen covey. It’s one of the most popular bestsellers of all time. I highly recommend all entrepreneurs to read this. In the book, he talks about the PPC balance, which stands for P being equal to production and PC being equal to production capability.
So production & production capability and the balance between the two is PPC balance. Essentially, in the story of Aesop’s Fable, golden eggs are the production for the goose. So the goose itself is the producer, and taking care of the goose takes care of its production capability to produce those golden eggs. When he killed the goose, then he eliminated the production capability and stopped the production itself.
A better example to understand this is to think of a lawnmower. So you use a lawn mower to mow your lawn and cut the grass. Now the production of that lawnmower is to give clean-cut grass. The production capability would be to take care of the lawnmower, frequently oil and repair it, and if you don’t take care of it, then eventually, its production capability will diminish until it breaks down and stops working.
I Didn’t Follow My Own Advice.
What I’m trying to share with you is, in my own business and for myself as an entrepreneur, that I was very consistent in increasing the production value and not focusing on the production.
We were making YouTube videos, recording podcasts, serving our students within our program, working on a software project, and other millions of things.
Eventually, I didn’t follow my own advice. The advice I would teach my students is to focus on one thing at a time, keeping it lean, mean, and simple.
So what happened? I was constantly focused on maximizing production. In turn, I wasn’t focused on balancing that with the production capability and ability to produce, and because of that, I hit a wall where my business plateaued and stopped growing.
For many months I would try various things, try different strategies, change how we sold our product, hire more people and try all kinds of things. Eventually, my business remained plateaued, and the reason why is because the core of the issue wasn’t the strategy. It wasn’t that we were doing anything wrong and needed to figure out a different way to do things to scale, but rather, it was because I was burnt out and didn’t take care of my production capability.
My Journey From Six Figures To Seven.
To fix this, I’m changing the way how I run things. If you’re a loyal subscriber of our newsletter, website, and YouTube, I am changing how I write these articles and record these videos.
It will be more raw and valuable so that everyone can relate to it and benefit from this. I will document my process for you all and probably do a podcast every week, but it’s going to be more me sharing my insights as I grow our business with an entrepreneur to seven figures.
Our goal is to bring this business from six figures where we’re now to seven figures to hit over a million dollars in revenue every year essentially. That is our goal right now, and if you’re just a startup entrepreneur, then this Journey will Insha Allah benefit you.
We’re trying to reach the right Muslim entrepreneurs and business owners who are just getting started or already starting and they want to know behind the scenes of:
- How do we make things work out in our business?
- How do we scale our products and services?
- What do we market ourselves?
- What are some good strategies for sales?
- How are we tailoring our activities to be able to scale this business from six figures to seven figures?
That is our ultimate goal and what we are focused on. To share things that are actually working and things that are not working in our business so that you don’t make the same mistakes.
Main Platforms We’ll Focus On
So all the content will focus on showing the behind-the-scenes of what we’re doing that’s helping us grow our business from 6 to 7 figures.
We think real entrepreneurs who are working on their businesses don’t care about the cutscenes, beautiful edits, or graphics. They just want to know whether you can help me get better at this. Can you help me achieve my goals? That’s our ultimate goal? It’s to help you guys.
