How To Make Halal Money Online As A Content Creator

Welcome to our Halal Business Strategy series.

Are you wondering how you could potentially earn a halal income online by being a content creator? Yes, then stay tuned.

In this blog, we will walk you through the step-by-step game plan on what you should be doing if this is something you want to do, you’re passionate about, and some pitfalls to watch out for.

No, we’re not going to discuss how to grow your YouTube channel to 1 million subscribers and get money through Youtube Ads but rather really how you can generate earnings as a content creator, even if you’re just starting from scratch or have a very small niche following.

Let’s dive right in.

First Tip: Focus On Creating A Loyal Following

The first thing you really need to do is focus all of your energy and effort on creating a loyal following on a specific topic that you’re super passionate about.

You have to be super passionate about the topic you’re going to focus on because creating content takes energy.

For you to be consistent with this, you want to choose something that you’re passionate about, as consistency is everything when you’re creating content. You need to make sure that once you begin on this journey, you’re able to deliver fresh new content for your audience every day, week, and month because this will be your source of revenue or how you’re generating halal income.

It will be a business, and you will have to treat it like a business and be very committed and dedicated to this.

Second Tip: Quality Over Quantity…

The second tip we want to give you once you’ve picked out your niche and know precisely what kind of area you’re going to focus on is that you want to focus on quality over quantity and never want to sacrifice consistency.

This is the secret formula to succeeding online as a content creator.

You need to put some effort into making quality content with consistency. It’s not enough anymore to create something you know that you just created within two seconds and has no real value and effort put into.

To stand out, you have to develop your style because there is so much content out there that’s available right now that people will just scroll past it because they don’t add value to their lives.

It doesn’t mean that you have to buy the most expensive camera or the best microphone to do this. You can use an iPhone, and iPhones have excellent cameras, sometimes even better than DSLRs and more expensive cameras when it’s in good lighting.

So what you should instead focus on is the content that you provide should be quality content.

People want your perspective, opinion, life journey, and experiences.

They want to see the real you.

Third Tip: Choose The Best Platform

The third tip will be to build a loyal following on the platforms that make the most sense for your niche.

This really depends on the topic that you’ve chosen.

For example, if you’ve chosen a niche that loves painting, they’re most likely going to be on Instagram or YouTube because these are visual platforms. But maybe the niche you chose is related to business. Then business people are usually on LinkedIn or perhaps more on Facebook.

The platforms you want to focus on initially depend on the niche and the topic you’ve chosen.

Think to yourself, ‘where my audience spends most of their time so I can reach them with this content that I’m creating.’

Remember, you don’t need thousands and thousands of followers, but you just need to create quality content on the platforms that make the most sense to you to start gaining an initial batch of followers that love what you do that engage with you.

Fourth Tip: Build A Paid Community

Throughout the entire process, you might note that you were doing all of this for free, and that’s why we tell you you have to pick something you’re passionate about because the journey of a paid content creator is a long one.

Once you have built initial loyal followers according to your passion, the next step is to introduce a way for them to support you with their money so that you can create fresh content. Eventually, you can build an exclusive community to give them behind the scenes of your content creation process, ebooks, pdfs, guides, and valuable resources in exchange for membership.

You can use platforms like Patrons, Might Network, or By Me A Coffee to host your paid community.

One extra tip that we have for you regarding monetizing your audience and building private communities is to create different tiers depending on what you’re offering now.

Suppose you’re a Graphic Designer and you were to create a community on Patreon, then you can choose different tiers.

Tier level is $5/mo, and you give them behind the scenes and two carousel templates.

Tier level 2 is $10/mo, and you give what’s in level one plus 20 downloadable printables to learn design.

You have to structure how you would create those different tiers.

It’s always a great way for you to maximize your earning potential and get people to maybe try it out at five dollars a month, see how it works for them, and then upgrade to higher tiers depending on what you’re providing.

This way, you can slowly begin to increase your revenue from this business and the content you’re creating.

Fifth Tip: Engage Closely With Your Fans

The fifth and final tip that we have for you in terms of being a paid content creator is to engage very closely with your fans.

Understand your fans…

  1. What is it that they want from you?
  2. What kind of topics do they want to hear about?
  3. What kind of questions do they have that they want you to answer?
  4. What kind of perspectives do they want to hear depending on what you specialize in?

So you have to engage with your audience by replying to their comments, messages, or any questions they have from your niche.

Build a beautiful relationship with your audience and interact with them regularly. That’s how we do at Ummahpreneur.

We reply to every single comment that someone posts on any of our posts because we want to know what are people saying, what do they want, what should we be doing, how should we adjust our content strategy to make sure that we’re giving our audience what it is that they’re looking for.

We definitely recommend you stay very closely engaged with your audience to listen to their feedback, which will allow you to be successful in your content creation business inshallah.

  3. Build a loyal following on the platforms that make the most sense for your niche.

That’s all the steps we wanted to share with you about generating a hadal income online as a content creator. While it’s not the easiest way to generate an income online, but if you’re super passionate about creating content, love being on video, writing content, and essentially love being on social media, then this is something you should go for.
